Dec 04, 2001: Yudit-2.5beta8 with Arabic Support
The Yudit Unicode text editor has come very close to having full Arabic support. This is great news for those wanting to use Linux to edit and create documents in Arabic.
Gasper Sinai has been very responsive and cooperative when contacted about his editor. He has made Yudit-2.5beta8 available, which fixes most of the shaping bugs. Please test and support him by giving him feedback.
Note: Yudit uses embedded characters to determine the direction of the text, which makes it unsuitable for translation. KBabel is the preferred KDE translation tool. If not, use VIM with Arabic support enabled.
